Chipotle Ketchup
sweet, smoky and spicy
So we present you the Mexican version of the ketchup, that is condimented with the delicious chipotle pepper – that gives a smoky and moderately spicy touch, that is perfectly combined with the ketchup’s sweetness.
This salsa is ideal to accompany with some snack or antojito like some tasty nachos, some tortilla chips , some tostadas ... and logically to put on all what we know that goes with ketchup like the French fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.
About the Recipe
- This recipe is very easy to prepare, only some ingredients have to be blended and ready.
- In this recipe the ketchup won’t be prepared because nowadays it can be got anywhere. Use a regular ketchup sauce and the recipe will come out formidable.
- The chipotle pepper, that is used in this recipe, has to be in adobo and canned.
- In fact you could also prepare the chipotle pepper in adobo.
- It won’t take you more than to prepare the salsa.
- It yields from 10 to 12 portions.

- Incorporate in a blender:
- 10.5 oz of Ketchup Sauce.
- 1 Chipotle Pepper in Adobo.
- 1 Garlic clove.
- 1/4 tablespoon of Oregano.
- 1/2 cup of Water (4.2 fl oz).
- 1/4 tablespoon of Salt.
The garlic clove and the oregano are used to give a touch of freshness to the salsa. |
- Blend very well the ingredients.
