This is the typical Mexican dessert that can be found at the fondas, it is always served... well almost always. Normally after eating a tasty comida corrida some cream and cinnamon bananas arrive.
Although the banana is originally from Asia. The cultivation of bananas was introduced in Mexico by the crews that sailed from Honduras to the state of Tabasco, in the late XIX century. Nowadays Mexico is one of the major banana producers worldwide and it is easy to find different banana varieties at the Mexican markets.
This recipe is very simple as it only consists of the mixture of bananas with cream, sugar and cinnamon. Although it is easy to make, the combination of these ingredients generates an outstanding flavor and it is a good way of making the children eat fruit.
About the Recipe
This dessert is ideal for beginners and it is of very quick preparation.
The cream bananas are made with sugar and either white sugar or brown sugar can be used.
The recipe is prepared with regular banana, don’t use plantain because it is not adequate for this preparation.
If it takes to prepare the dessert, it will be a lot of time.
This recipe is for 4 persons.
Ingredients
4 Bananas (23.9 oz)
3/4 of a cup of Mexican Cream (6.4 fl oz)
Cinnamon to taste
2 tablespoons of Sugar
Cookware
1 Bowl
1 Chopping Board
1 Mixing Spatula
1 Knife
Directions
Pour in a bowl:
3/4 of a cup of Mexican Cream.
2 tablespoons of Sugar.
Mix the bowl ingredients with a mixing spatula, until they are well integrated; then set aside.
Peel 4 bananas, slice them and put them in the bowl, along with the other ingredients.
Mix the bowl ingredients with the mixing spatula.
Put in the fridge the bowl and leave the ingredients resting for 10 minutes, so the flavors settle and mix.
The ingredients are also going to acquire a better consistency.
Serve the bananas and add cinnamon to taste.
